Why is Lamborghini not in F1?
Modern F1 hybrid power units are incredibly complex and expensive to develop, and Lamborghini executives have said the technology doesn’t align with their V12 and supercar-focused brand identity. Frankly hyper-car companies don’t have the money, resources or personnel to take a gamble at F1 when there’s no guarantee it would work for them, and unlike Honda and Renault which make “boring” cars, it would hurt Bugatti exponentially more to suck at F1, because the last thing that a company which makes fast cars .
Why is Ferrari in F1 but not Lamborghini?
Well they’re actually not interested in Formula 1 because the original philosophy for Lamborghini is to make a fast luxury street car not a race car but most importantly it’s a massive financial commitment and they’d be up against Ferrari. Their direct rival who has 75 years experience in Formula One. Stellantis, the supergroup who owns them, doesn’t have the desire to spend run an F1 team money on Motorsport. They didn’t even want to keep the Maserati name in Formula E, and that was easily one of the best looking cars.
Why is Porsche not in F1?
In short, Porsche doesn’t have an F1 team because it was unable to find a partner team for entry into the 2026 season.
