Why is the Countach so iconic?
When the Countach prototype was first displayed, many people could not believe it was a real car due to its extreme, futuristic design. The prototype’s sharp angles and bright yellow color was so memorable that it caused all who had seen it to dream about getting behind the wheel and one day owning it. It’s widely known that they used a real Countach for some dumb reason instead of a kit car. Dan More i did read somewhere that it wasn’t a particularly nice example when it was purchased, not been well looked after and poor paint.
What was the best Countach?
QV (or 5000QV) (1985-88) In my opinion, the best Countach was the QV (Quattrovalvole) from 1985-88. It had the V12 upgraded to 5167cc and 4 valves per cylinder. The Weber carburetors were converted to vertically mounted to smoothen breathing. The 5000QV, or Quattrovalvole, features four valves per cylinder, enhancing its power and responsiveness. The Countach before you is one of just 66 equipped with advanced fuel injection, boosting power to an impressive 455 horsepower capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just over 4 seconds.At no point do you forget what you’re doing and start to relaxing. By the time this example was launched in 1985, the 5000s QV, the Countach had become much more powerful, with a 5. V-12 that produced nearly 450 horsepower, shooting the car to 60 in less than 5 seconds, hitting a top speed of 185.
