The Apollo Intensa Emozione (IE) is one of the rarest hypercars ever built, with only ten units produced since its 2017 debut. And so, Apollo is taking the first steps towards making the IE a road-legal car. That’s a 769bhp, naturally aspirated V12-powered road car – built to LMP racing standards and claiming to generate more mass in downforce (1,350kg) than it actually weighs (1,250kg) – on the street.The apollo intensa emozione, or apollo ie, is a street-legal, mid-engine sports car with a gt1-inspired design. The german manufacturer apollo automobil gmbh partnered with manifattura automobili torino and race car specialists hwa to create the ie. The name translates to “intense emotion” in italian.
Which Apollo went bad?
Two Apollo missions can be considered as failures. The first planned mission, Apollo 1, ended in disaster in January 1967, when all three astronauts were killed in a fire during a pre-launch test. In April 1970, Apollo 13 suffered an explosion in an oxygen tank but returned safely to Earth. The Apollo 1 crew was lost in a capsule fire during a routine ground test. Challenger was destroyed shortly after launch by a solid rocket booster joint failure on an unusually cold day.
Is Apollo 11 still alive?
Neil Armstrong and Edwin Buzz Aldrin were the first of 12 human beings to walk on the Moon. Four of America’s moonwalkers are still alive: Aldrin (Apollo 11), David Scott (Apollo 15), Charles Duke (Apollo 16), and Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17). Following the deaths of Armstrong in 2012 and pilot Michael Collins in 2021, he is the last surviving Apollo 11 crew member. Following Jim Lovell’s death in 2025, Aldrin became the oldest living astronaut.
